Overview: The Competence Center Global Business Management (GBM, Augsburg) and the
CisAlpino Institute for Comparative Studies in Europe (CCSE Bergamo/Augsburg) will hold a
workshop on academic policy, the knowledge theory of entrepreneurship and its challenges for
society. The aim of this conference is to bring to the forefront issues related to the Knowledge
Theory of Entrepreneurship to explore various institutional, legal, and sector developments
that affect the creation of entrepreneurial firms, their rate of success, and their contribution to
economic development. The conference will also focus on understanding the role of Academic
Policy, various institutional settings, the governance of universities and their contribution for
society in the 21st century. Conference papers will be considered for inclusion in a special issue
of Small Business Economics Journal (Knowledge Theory of Entrepreneurship) and
International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal (Academic Policy). For
