The infiltration of Arts and Sciences, the intersection of science and engineering, the combination of agriculture and industry, and the integration of medicine and industry have become the trend of discipline development and personnel training. The development of contemporary science increasingly depends on the intersection and integration of different disciplines. In order to deeply tap the advantages and potential of the school's complete disciplines, focus on cultivating multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary ecology and academic atmosphere with the characteristics of Jilin University, pool the joint efforts of the school's career development, further speed up the construction of ‘double first class’ and promote the inclusive development, the school decided to carry out a series of activities of ‘interdisciplinary integration and innovation’ in the early stage, The project of ‘interdisciplinary integration and innovation’ should be established to further promote the development of interdisciplinary integration, improve the ability of independent innovation, and enhance the ability of solving complex problems. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
1.Project establishment
Adhering to the‘four orientations’and the‘interdisciplinary integration and innovation’project, it is planned to cultivate and establish three categories, namely, projects serving the major national needs and international frontier hot and difficult issues, projects serving economic and social development and industrial technological progress, and projects for young scholars to explore freely.
(1).Serving the major national needs and facing the international frontier hot and difficult projects
1.Support objectives
Aiming at the key areas embodying the national strategic intention, focusing on the international frontier hot and difficult areas, we should establish interdisciplinary teams, work together to tackle key problems and overcome difficulties, and strive to make breakthroughs.
2.Supportmethods
About 5 projects are planned to be funded, and the funding intensity is 200000-300000 yuaneachproject. The funding period is one year, from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. After the annual evaluation, the projects with obvious progress and achievements can be supported by rolling.
(2).Servingeconomic and social development and industry technology progress projects
1.Support objectives
Serves the economic and social development in an all-round way, strengthens the service of capital and government, focuses on key common problems, and integrates multiple disciplines, form a strong support for thecomprehensiverevitalizationstrategy and innovation driven strategy ofnortheast China.
2. Supportmethods
It is proposed to support about 10 projects of cultivation, with the intensity of 150000-200000 yuaneachitem. The funding period is one year, from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. After the annual evaluation, the projects with obvious progress and achievements can be supported by rolling.
(3).Free exploration projects for Young Scholars
1.SupportObjectives
Adhere to the original innovation and achieve more‘from 0 to 1’breakthroughs, encourage young teachers to explore freely and work in teams, tap development potential, enhance innovation vitality and enhance research ability through interdisciplinary integration.
2.SupportMethods
About 15 projects are planned to be cultivated, and the funding intensity is 80000-100000 yuaneachproject. The funding period is one year, from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. After the annual evaluation, the projects with obvious progress and achievements can be supported by rolling.
2.Declaration principles and requirements
The purpose of‘interdisciplinary integration and innovation’project is to‘encourage interdisciplinary, cultivate emerging, support the best, and stimulate vitality’. It encourages interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary joint application, encourages teachers to actively participate, enlivens the atmosphere of integration and innovation, and stimulates innovation vitality. The project application must follow the following principles and requirements.
(1).Principles
1.Problem oriented principle. The leading discipline should have a certain pre-interdisciplinary research foundation, and refine the scientific or technical problems that need to be solved. Through cross integration with other related disciplines, it can solve relevant problems.
2.The principle of multi-disciplinary and inter-college participation. The projects to be approved must cross two or more disciplines,crossschoolsand cross departmentscooperation.
3.The principle of meeting major needs. The declared projects should play a supporting role in the declaration of national major and key projects, and lay a solid foundation for further meeting national needs and undertaking national major tasks.
4.The principle of mutual difference. For projects that have been approved and supported by the state or theministry, the same content shall not be used to declare‘interdisciplinary integration innovation’projects; only one project led or participated by the same person in the same year.
(2).Requirements
1.Team requirements. The application project should have a relatively reasonable age structure of teachers.
2.Requirements of multiple responsible persons. According to the subject participation, the project operation adopts the system of leading person in charge and cooperative person in charge.
3.Identity requirements. The person in charge shall be the on-the-job teachersof the school.
4.Age requirement. In principle, the leading applicant for the young scholar project is under 40 years old for the natural science category and 45 years old for the humanities and social sciences category on January 1 of that year; for the other two categories, the leading applicant is under 55 years old on January 1 of that year.
3.Material submission
The application team shall fill in the application form of‘interdisciplinary integration and innovation’project of Jilin University, and the leading person in charge and the cooperative person in charge shall sign it and submit it to the middle level unit for review and seal, and submit it to the development planning department (Dingxin buildingA521) before leaving on November 27, 2020, and send the electronic version to ranzhang@jlu.edu.cn .
