According to the work arrangements and requirements issued by the relevant departments of the University, the school of economics held the 2021 annual project application motivation and experience exchange meeting on January 20, 2021. The meeting adopted the combination of online and offline methods. Hongkai Nie, Secretary of the Party committee of the school of economics, and Professor Yibing Ding, President of the school of economics, attended the meeting and made motivation speeches respectively; Mr. He Ma, head of the project section of the Social Sciences Department of the school, was invited to attend the meeting and introduced the policy changes and matters needing attention this year; Professor Benye Shi, deputy director of the Institute of American studies, made a thematic report entitled ‘how to do a good job in project application’ and communicated with more than 40 teachers attending the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Professor Da Wang, vice president.
In his motivation speech, Dean Yibing Ding pointed out that 2021 is the first year of the ‘14th five year plan’ and the starting year of the next round of discipline evaluation. The college attaches great importance to the project application work and will create favorable conditions for all teachers in the college, striving to achieve good results this year. Hongkai Nie, Secretary of the school of economics, expressed his joy of attending this meeting and stressed that the Party committee of the school of economics will provide a solid guarantee for the teachers' scientific research work. Mr. He Ma of the social science department explained several kinds of normative problems that should be paid attention to in the application process of NSFC projects.
Professor Benye Shi has made a thorough and detailed report for the teachers participating in the meeting, combining his rich experience in the application and management of scientific research projects. Starting from the preparations of project, Professor Shi introduced the specification and notes of tender writing in detail. His deep and simple explanation with rich and detailed case analysis aroused the broad resonance and heated discussion of the participants. Hao Wang, associate professor of the department of finance, Professor Shuping Dai, the Department of economics, PWang Ting, Sun Li, and Dr. Xu Ning, the Department of economics, have conducted interactive discussions on the possible problems in the process of project application with Professor Shi. Vice professor Fan Shuo of the Ministry of economics and teachers at the meeting shared the experience of two successful applications of NSFC. Professor Ping Qi of the department of fiscal shared experience from three aspects: shaping craftsman spirit, clarifying problem orientation and improving academic quality. He encouraged young teachers to study hard and improve their ability with the opportunity of project application. Finally, the Secretary of scientific research Kun Zhang introduced the time arrangement and precautions for the application of the National Social Science Fund and the self Science Fund in 2021. The project application motivation and experience exchange meeting was successful.
