On December 27, 2020, the kick-off meeting of the key consultation project ‘Jilin Province high quality development path research’ was held in Changchun. Academician Xiaohong Chen, Jilin University, Luquan Ren, Shouhua Fenf, director of Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Department--Huadong Yu, vice president of Jilin University--Professor Weitao Zheng, director of Jilin development and Reform Commission--Dawei Liu, director of Jilin development and Reform Commission--Yutian Wang, editor in chief of economic and horizontal magazine--Lianqiang Guo, and regulations of Jilin Social Science Fund--Xiumei Bi, director of policy and regulation department of Jilin Provincial Department of science and technology--Chengsheng Bao, director of Jilin Institute of engineering and technology development strategy of China--Linbo Zhang, director of social science and technology--Donglin Song, Professor Zheng Li, Professor Xinyu Zhao, and more than 30 experts and scholars from east China Normal University, Jilin University of Finance and economics, Renmin University of China, Jilin agricultural and agricultural department attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Yuchun Yao, the director of Social Sciences Department, Jilin University.
Vice President of Jilin University Weitao Zheng expressed warm welcome and sincere thanks to the academicians, experts and scholars attending the meeting, introduced the background of the project, and introduced the research background, purpose and direction of the project to all members of the experts. In view of the research on the overall project, director of Jilin Provincial Department of science and technology--Huadong Yu, put forward the earnest hope for the implementation and research of the project, pointed out that it was necessary to put forward practical solutions after finding problems, and provided practical development path for the high-quality development of Jilin Province. Xiaohong Chen, academician of Hunan University of technology and industry, congratulated on the initiation of the project and pointed out that the research work of each sub project should be carried out in an orderly manner according to the research plan.
On behalf of the project team, Professor Donglin Song reported the overall project implementation plan and progress to the expert group. Through systematic theoretical research, the project aims to grasp the theoretical connotation and practical requirements of high-quality development from the overall situation, and explore the realization path of high-quality development composed of policies to promote the flow of innovation elements, expand opening to the outside world, industrial transformation and upgrading, and high-end talent pool in Jilin Province. At present, a consultation report has been approved by the provincial government, and two academic papers have been received. He pointed out that in the future, the project will continue to conduct in-depth research, constantly improve the project planning, and provide practical and high-quality development path in combination with the actual economic and social situation of Jilin Province.
After listening to the specific introduction of Professor Donglin Song, the experts and scholars of the expert group gave full affirmation and guiding suggestions. Academician Luquan Ren pointed out that the research of social science should focus on the extensive involvement of politics, economy, culture and society, and must attach importance to project research to form practical and effective results. Academician Shouhua Feng pointed out that how the high-quality development of Jilin province moves forward is an important problem to be solved. The project research should pay attention to the combination of politics, economy, culture and society, point out the problems and pay more attention to the solution of the problems, so as to provide help for the government work. Experts such as Lianqiang Guo, Yutian Wang, Dawei Liu and Xiumei Bi put forward useful opinions and suggestions for the project team from the aspects of modern industrial system, factor aggregation, index system, ecological problems and discipline integration.
After listening to the suggestions of the expert group, Professor Donglin Song concluded that the project team would focus more on what is high-quality development and how to take root in the future research. The results of the project would also provide suggestions and help for the provincial Party committee and government of Jilin Province. At the end of the meeting, the expert group thought that the basis of the project was sufficient, the implementation plan was feasible, the research task could be completed on schedule, and the expected goal could be achieved. They agreed to start the project and wished the project a complete success.
