On the afternoon of November 9, the donation ceremony of ‘Peng Xinmin scholarship of Jilin University school of economics’ was held in the conference room on the 8th floor of Dongrong building. The donors, Mr. and Mrs. Yonghua Peng, along with alumni, associate director of the fund office--Mr. Biao Yin, and members of the leading group of school of economics attended the ceremony.
Yong Zhao, associate secretary of the school of economics, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Yonghua Peng for their donation to the school. Secretary Zhao mentioned that the development of education in the school of economics can not be separated from the support and help of alumni. While pursuing his career, Mr. Peng pay attention to giving back to the society, have the courage to take social responsibility, and set up scholarships in our school, which is the embodiment of his strong sense of social responsibility, and also a profound interpretation of the school running philosophy of the school of economics of ‘developing simultaneously, managing the world and helping the people’. At the same time, Secretary Zhao also congratulated the students who won the ‘Peng Xinmin scholarship’ and hoped that the students who won the scholarship would be grateful and be useful to the society.
Mr Peng expressed his gratitude to his school, saying that ‘his own growth and progress are inseparable from the cultivation of his school’. Mr. Peng graduated from the school of economics and management of Jilin University in 2000, majoring in Trade and Economics. He donated 100 thousand yuan to the school of economics for the establishment of ‘Peng Xinmin scholarship’, hoping to make contributions to the education of his school.
After the ceremony, our school also organized a forum for Mr. Peng. Mr. Peng, on behalf of his enterprise, exchanged views with the school on scientific research cooperation, personnel training, school enterprise exchange and other project directions, laying a good foundation for the future in-depth cooperation and communication between the two sides.
